Central Tablelands Residence
From the moment we stood on the vacant land with the owners on day one, reviewing the architectural plans, it was clear that this project was destined for success. This exceptional project enabled Evolution Window Systems to demonstrate the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in the window and door industry.

Perched high on a sandstone outcrop beside the Lane Cove River, the Terra Firma residence is a striking example of architecture rooted in the landscape - both literally and conceptually. Designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects, the three-story home combines natural materials such as rammed earth, recycled brick, reclaimed sandstone, and terracotta roof tiles to create a warm, grounded haven for its owners, who are lifelong sailors.

The ageing Shirley Road Apartment complex in Wollstonecraft on Sydneys Lower North Shore was earmarked for an external facelift and improved weather performance. With 72 apartments showing clear signs of air leakage and deterioration, the owners set out to correct the waterproofing and add value to the apartments with new windows and optional sliding balcony doors.

This redevelopment involved the transformation of the 105 year old heritage building into a modern court for young people. This meant retaining parts of the existing heritage portions of the facade, whilst completely transforming the internals to a functioning and modern courthouse.

The design brief from the owners was simple but demanding, “We want seriously large pieces of glass to encapsulate the view and bushland, but it has to perform Thermally efficient!”

Perched high on a ridge overlooking Sydney’s stunning Northern Beaches, there was never any question that windows would be a major feature of this impressive Warriewood residence. Of course, framing those sweeping ocean views might be a no-brainer, but the right solution isn’t always obvious, nor is the implementation always straightforward.

The client requested the largest possible top hung, double glazed, sliding door system, double glazed, around which they would then build the walls to suit. Being a school, special consideration was given to the operating forces to allow for ease of use by children. The design also had to comply with various codes including disabled, operating forces, fire escape and section J requirements.
